Eleven Spanish short films will compete for the Best National Short Film
The new edition of 3D Wire Fest reconvenes in Segovia the most outstanding national and international animated short films market representatives. This contest, which is hold in parallel to 3D Wire, Animation, Video Games and New Media Market, is the only Cartoon D’Or partner festival in Spain, which could be named as the ‘Oscar’ for European animation. The National and International short films awarded in 3D Wire Fest will be pre-selected for the prestigious European award.
The jury is composed by the Mexican independent director and producer Lourdes Villagomez; the director of MUCES, City of Segovia European Film Festival, Eliseo de Pablos; Pack Magic’s Head of Acquisitions and founder of ‘Toon a Ville‘ Alfred Sesma; and the coordinator of the distribution company Momakin Agnieszka Kowalewska-Skowron.
Furthermore, in 3D Wire Fest 2015 the audience could concede with its votes the Best International Short Film Audience Award and the Best National Short Film Audience Award.
La Cárcel, Segovia Centro de Creación shelters a new edition of the festival where free screening of short films will be celebrated October 4th-8th, besides the screening of the awarded short films October 11th.
The competition screenings will take place from Monday October 5th to Thursday 8th. The first three days will be devoted to the international works and the last day for the national short films.
In the international competition 21 countries participate: Portugal, Switzerland, Australia, USA, United Kingdom, Greece, Brazil, Russia, France, Chine, Slovaquia, Belgium, Denmark, Rumania, Germany, Estonia, Moldava, Iran, Hungary, Netherlands and Croatia.
In the National competition there are eleven short films selected: ‘Chinese Princess’ by Tomás Bases; ‘The Cryptozoologist’, by Vicente Mallols; ‘Portrait of a Wind-up Maker’ by Darío Pérez Moreno; ‘Around the Bush’ by A.Cánovas, C. Aparisi, C. Pamplona, I. Carbonell, R. Naveiro, A. Piqueras, C. Escario, N. Royos & R. Alòs; ‘Sailor´s Grave’ by I. Herguera, V. Jevremovic, C. Santa, C. Traslaviña, J.C.González, J. Belmonte, W. Li Ming, C. Kemei, R. Reeves & K. Almandoz; ‘Alike’ by Daniel Martínez Lara & Rafa Cano Méndez; ‘Sumer’ by Álvaro García; ‘Woodchips’ by Christian Villacañas; ‘Tenants’ de Daniel Amar y Carlota Aparisi; ‘Travel by Feet’ by Khris Cembe and ‘Amor de mono’ by Paulo Mosca.
The non competitive screenings will take place September 29th at 21:00h in Bar Santana with a humour short fim selection; October 4th in La Cárcel at 20:00h with a selection of Polish animated short films in collaboration with Ad Arte Foundation, Short Waves Festival and Instituto Polaco de Cultura de Madrid; and October 11th, in La Cárcel at 21h it will take place the last screening with the awarded 3D Wire Fest short films and Cartoon d’Or 2014 nominees. All screenings are recommended for over 16 years old.
